Sour Fizzy Drinks

I drink a lot of Sour Fizzy drinks. I love the effervescence of the sparkling water and the tartness of the lemon. My Sour Fizzy recipe is basically a lemonade without the added sugar!

You can make this plain, with blueberry, or strawberry flavors. This Sour Fizzy is a great beverage for kids, tweens, and adults. Make it super fancy by adding a fragrant sprig of mint. Moreover, this drink is perfect for staying hydrated during the long summer days while also spicing up a BBQ or potluck with a fun feature drink!

With just a few simple ingredients and you have yourself a gourmet booze-free beverage. Let’s break down this recipe blueprint, its variations, why I love this recipe, and a bit more hydration information in this articles Sharper Nutrition Fix.

The Blueprint

With this blueprint recipe, you can create countless recipes with small additions.

Sour Fizzy Blueprint

This is just 2 ingredients, that’s it!

  • 2oz lemon juice
  • 6-8oz soda water.

Serve over ice and you have yourself a thirst-quenching summer spritzer. After you master that, the possibilities are endless.

The Variations

Here are two more booze-free drinks you can create with this base.

Strawberry Sour Fizzy: the easier of the two to create. Just get yourself a bottle of Evolutions Vital Berry or any other 100% cold pressed juice just make sure the main flavor note is strawberry. The Vital Berry has apple, strawberry, raspberry, orange, mango, and acerola fruits. Replace 1oz of lemon juice with 1oz of  Evolutions Vital Berry juice.

Sharper Tip: Acerola is similar to cherry and is native to Central America, northern South America, and the Caribbean.

Blueberry Sour Fizzy: To make this Sour Fizzy variation first, you need to make the blueberry juice. This is a mix between syrup and juice really. I blend the blueberries then cook them down and add a touch of sugar and lemon. Then Strain the liquid and viola. Then do the same as you did with the Strawberry variation, replace 1oz lemon juice with 1oz blueberry juice.

Why I Love Making This Recipe

I love providing alternatives to alcohol at social gatherings. The more and more I look into this Mocktail world the more fascinated and knowledgeable I become.

Did you know there are Mocktail Bars opening up in major cities all over the United States like Portland, New York City, and Houston. Just the other day a friend was telling me about some new mocktail bars in the Denver area. This has started my intrigue to find these in the Huntsville AL area. Many restaurants are also offering local kombucha as another beverage option.

Sharper Nutrition Fix: Hydration

Hydration is so important and here are several reasons to stay adequately hydrated.

  • Regulate body temperature – like when we sweat!
  • Prevent infection and other illness – i.e. UTI, HTN, Kidney Stones
  • Promotes Skin and Heart health
  • Maintain healthy gut – preventing constipation
  • Fights fatigue – promoting cognitive function
  • Weight wellness – digestion, nutrient absorption
  • Aids in Physical Performance – ever played a sport super thirsty and dehydrated
  • Water helps to flush waste from the body – urination and deification

More Booze Free Beverages

Another great booze free beverage to try is my Kombucha Mocktail.

I also like Curious Elixirs, a booze free craft cocktail you can buy online or in some retailers.
